Create a financial analysis data set
Before you can perform a financial analysis, you must create one or more data sets.
To create a financial analysis data set
Select Search (Alt+Q)
, enter data sets, and then select the related link.The Data Sets page opens.
On the action bar, select New.
A new row appears.
Specify values for fields on the row as required.
Column visibility
Each data set has a checkbox that controls whether a corresponding column appears on the Financial Analysis page:
- Show Budgeted Amount
- Show Commitments
- Show Encumbrances
- Show Net Change
- Show Budget Available
- Show % Available
All six checkboxes are selected by default.
To show or hide a column on the Financial Analysis page for a data set, on the Data Sets page, on the action bar, select Edit List, and then select or clear the checkbox for that column.
Column captions
Each data set has a caption field that lets you enter a custom heading for a corresponding column on the Financial Analysis page:
- Caption - Budgeted Amount
- Caption - Commitments
- Caption - Encumbrances
- Caption - Net Change
- Caption - Budget Available
- Caption - % Available
Leave a caption field blank to keep the default column heading.
To enter a custom heading for a column on a data set, on the Data Sets page, on the action bar, select Edit List, and then enter a value in the caption field for that column.
