Designate a payroll account
You can designate an account set or a General Ledger (GL) account as a payroll account, so that the account set or GL account automatically syncs to Sparkrock EdHRP.
Payroll Account checkbox
On the Account Sets page, and on the Chart of Accounts page, the Payroll Account checkbox specifies whether an account set or GL account is designated for payroll use. When Payroll Account is selected, the account set or GL account is designated for payroll use. When Payroll Account is clear, the account set or GL account is not designated for payroll use. Payroll Account is clear by default.
Automatic payroll account designation
When you specify a GL Account No. on an account set, Payroll Account on the account set automatically matches Payroll Account on the linked GL account. When the linked GL account has Payroll Account selected, Payroll Account on the account set is selected and becomes read-only. When the linked GL account has Payroll Account clear, or when you clear GL Account No., Payroll Account on the account set is clear and remains editable.
When you select Payroll Account on a GL account, Sparkrock Finance also selects Payroll Account on all account sets that are linked to that GL account. When you clear Payroll Account on a GL account, Payroll Account on linked account sets is not changed.
To designate an account set as a payroll account
Select Search (Alt+Q)
, enter account sets, and then select the related link.The Account Sets page opens.
Select the account set that you want to designate as a payroll account.
Select the Payroll Account checkbox.
To designate a GL account as a payroll account
Select Search (Alt+Q)
, enter chart of accounts, and then select the related link.The Chart of Accounts page opens.
Select the GL account that you want to designate as a payroll account.
Select the Payroll Account checkbox.
To designate multiple account sets as payroll accounts
Select Search (Alt+Q)
, enter account sets, and then select the related link.The Account Sets page opens.
Select the rows for the account sets that you want to designate as payroll accounts.
On the action bar, select Mark as Payroll Account.
Sparkrock Finance selects Payroll Account on the selected records. Records that already have Payroll Account selected are skipped.
To designate multiple GL accounts as payroll accounts
Select Search (Alt+Q)
, enter chart of accounts, and then select the related link.The Chart of Accounts page opens.
Select the rows for the GL accounts that you want to designate as payroll accounts.
On the action bar, select Mark as Payroll Account.
Sparkrock Finance selects Payroll Account on the selected records. Records that already have Payroll Account selected are skipped. Sparkrock Finance also selects Payroll Account on all account sets that are linked to the selected GL accounts.
