Export T4A data to an XML file

To meet Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) reporting requirements, Sparkrock Impact provides the capability for you to export T4A data to an XML file.

The data that appears within the T4A XML file is based on the criteria that you specify on the Export T4A to XML page and the data that appears on the T4A Posted Purchase Invoice Lines and T4A Posted Purchase Cr. Memo Lines pages.

To export T4A data to an XML file

    1. Select Search (Alt+Q) Tell me what you want to do, enter export t4a to xml, and then choose the related link.

The Export T4A To XML page opens.

    2. Specify values for fields as required, and then choose OK.

A dialog box appears that displays the following text:

Do you want to create XML file?

    3. To proceed, choose Yes.

Sparkrock Impact creates, and then places the file in your browser's downloads folder.

    Min. Amount Filter

When generating a T4A XML file from the Export T4A To XML page, the file creation logic for the Min. Amount Filter field selects records that are greater than or equal to the specified amount.

    Consolidated data validation errors

When validation issues exist, Sparkrock Impact identifies all errors across the required data sources and presents the errors on the Error Messages page.

Users can select an error to open the related record directly and correct the data before running the T4A XML file creation process again.

The consolidated validation process includes checks for required T4A data, including:

    • Company information, such as CRA submission and contact details

    • Vendor information, including postal code format, SIN format, business number format, and province or state codes

Automatic Box 15 output in the T4A XML file when Box 16 has values

During T4A XML file generation, when Box 16 is greater than $0.01, Sparkrock Impact retrieves the vendor’s Payer-offered Dental Benefits value that appears on the Vendor Card page and writes the value to the <payr_dntl_ben_rpt_cd> element for that vendor.

If Box 16 is $0.00, Sparkrock Impact omits the <payr_dntl_ben_rpt_cd> element from the T4A XML file.
