Set up Tax Area Code on expense claim header
When the Tax Area Code on Claim Header toggle is turned on, a Tax Area Code field appears on the General FastTab of expense claims in Sparkrock Impact, and in the General section of the Details tab of expense claims in mySparkrock. Finance administrators can use this field to correct the tax jurisdiction on a claim in a single step, without editing each line individually. You can also configure the label that mySparkrock uses to display this field.
To set up the tax area code on the expense claim header
Select Search (Alt+Q)
, enter purchases & payables setup, and then select the related link. The Purchases & Payables Setup page opens.
On the Expense Claims FastTab, in the mySparkrock Settings group, turn on Tax Area Code on Claim Header.
(Optional) In Tax Area Code Caption, specify the label that you want mySparkrock to display for the field.
Tax Area Code Caption only affects the label in mySparkrock. In Sparkrock Impact, the field is always labeled Tax Area Code.
If you leave Tax Area Code Caption blank, mySparkrock displays the field as Tax Area Code.
Tax Area Code field behavior
When Tax Area Code on Claim Header is turned on, a Tax Area Code field appears on the General FastTab of expense claims in Sparkrock Impact, and in the General section of the Details tab of expense claims in mySparkrock. The dropdown is filtered to tax area codes that are marked as available for expense claims.
The Tax Area Code field is editable when the claim status is Open or Approved. The field is read-only when the claim status is Pending Approval, In-Progress, Completed, or Cancelled.
When you select a Tax Area Code, the following message appears:
Changing the Tax Area Code will update all lines on this claim. Do you want to continue?
Selecting Yes updates the Tax Area Code on all existing claim lines and recalculates tax amounts and totals. Selecting No reverts the field to its previous value and no lines are changed.
When a new line is added to a claim that has a Tax Area Code set, the Tax Area Code on the new line is automatically populated with that value. The line-level Tax Area Code can be changed independently without affecting the claim-level value or other lines.
When the toggle is turned off, the Tax Area Code field is hidden on both Sparkrock Impact and mySparkrock expense claims. Turning the toggle off does not remove any Tax Area Code values that are already saved.
